In two tests on 11 Sept, the Army fired pairs of Katyusha rockets at its Tactical High Energy Laser. In both tests, the laser destroyed one of the rockets but did not fire at the second because it did not have enough tracking data. The Army is studying the situation to see why there was not enough data generated by the radar systems. Critics have warned that they Army must not rig the next test by arranging the firing points for easy tracking.--Stephen V Cole
